Jacob Johnson

Having international experience working in multi-disciplinary practices in Australia, UAE and England Jacob joined Bryden Wood in 2007.

Since joining, his role has constantly evolved whilst maintaining his skills in co-ordinating and working within multi-disciplinary teams to ensure thoroughly well resolved projects are delivered.

Initially working on MET Police safer neighbourhoods projects, Jacob soon became involved in working on GSK chassis and several data centres due to his experience with 3D design software. Jacob contributed significantly to the MET Police Wandsworth project where delivering a data rich model resulted in an extremely detailed and coordinated single model environment within the multi-disciplined (in-house) team. The ability to incorporate fabrication models with the design models allowed for an innovative and more efficient and effective way of coordinating the project. On the Gatwick Pier One project where Jacob assumed at times a project lead role and was responsible for the coordination of the baggage area, the buildings interface with the existing terminal and advising the client on 3D modelling standards and requirements as the project was a first for Gatwick which would require a 3D model as a deliverable. Throughout his tenure Jacob has used his extensive knowledge of both digital delivery and technical design requirements to componentise designs, most recently as part of the GSK Beta Building.

In addition to his constant involvement in projects such as the Met Police Driving Academy and Sugar House Lane Primary School, Jacob has been heavily involved in the company-wide transition to BIM across all disciplines and the development and implementation of the company’s ‘Digital Delivery Strategy’, which includes the coordination and integration of all digital work flows in the office.
