At Bryden Wood, we are expanding our teams in Barcelona and Madrid to work on large scale projects for the biggest names in "Big Tech" and the Industrial sector. Bryden Wood is looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our integrated design team in Spain.
We are looking for engineers who understand large-scale systems. Whether your background is in Pharma, Logistics, or Heavy Industry, we offer you the chance to pivot into the high-growth Data Centre sector while working for a stable UK-based multinational.
THE ROLE
You will be a key member of our projects in Spain as well as other international projects, working closely with all the other disciplines (Architecture, Structures, Civils and Sustainability) and clients to deliver innovative designs.
· Support mechanical technical design (HVAC, Cooling, Piping, ventilation) for all project stages (From Concept to Construction) including carrying out calculations, concept development, and project delivery.
· Strong understanding of critical cooling systems, variable flow closed-circuit water systems, and equipment selection.
· Capable of producing mechanical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and service distribution layouts, ensuring all designs align with technical specifications.
· Ensure full compliance with Spanish regulations.
· Support the production of official submissions for Spanish professional bodies (Colegio de Ingenieros) and local authorities.
· Work concurrently on multiple projects from concept through to delivery.
· Use a solution-based approach to solve complex thermal and fluid dynamic problems.
WHAT WE NEED
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Energy, Industrial Engineering or equivalent
· Must-Have: Solid grasp of Mechanical Technical design and Spanish regulations (RITE/CTE…).
· Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, preferably with previous experience in Data Centre or mission critical Projects in Spain.
· Experience supporting official submissions to “Colegio de Ingenieros” and local authorities.
· Experience: Solid experience on Large-Scale Industrial/Infrastructure projects. Data Centre experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
· Language: Full professional fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
· Revit & Navisworks: Competent in the use of Revit and Navisworks
