Strategic consultancy: Start with the right question
When the costliest decisions in any capital programme are made before design begins, when the wrong question is asked, or the wrong assumptions go unchallenged. Bryden Wood engages at the earliest possible stage, working with clients to define a precise Problem Statement before any solution is considered.
Our Design to Value methodology – developed with GSK and co-authored with Professor John Dyson, published by RIBA – evaluates every project across six dimensions of whole-life value. It has been applied across pharmaceutical manufacturing, data centres, healthcare, and major government programmes. For the Ministry of Justice's Prison Estate Transformation Project (PETP), it delivered more change in two years than the previous hundred years. For the New Hospitals Programme, it produced designs up to 30% more compact than traditional equivalents.
